Welcome the Theatre Arts 1B
This course is a continuation of Theatre Arts 1A with an emphasis on acting and production. Classes may be focused in one or more of the following areas throughout the semester depending on participation and needs of the group;
1. Acting styles and techniques with a focus on character development toward the production of a dramatic product
2. Sometimes (depending on class) a unit on film history and film production with a focus on the history of film, possible development of screenplays and producing, and editing film projects
3. Studying acting techniques and different styles of approach to theatre through work with a variety of different scripts and scenes. An introduction to Stanislavsky acting technique through exercises by Uta Hagen and Sanford Meisner.
4. Possible play-writing techniques and production of original scripts if time and student aptitude.

Syllabus
The syllabus is the same for the 1A and 1B course but some changes may occur depending on the chemistry of the class.
